The application by Gladman to build 245 houses in Eye & Dunsden parish is now to be considered by councillors at a planning meeting currently scheduled for mid-September. SODC had previously indicated it would be turned down on grounds of the lack of available local education facilities.
The application is still rigorously opposed by Eye & Dunsden Parish Council, backed by six other local parishes in South Oxon, including Binfield Heath. It is also being fought by residents' associations in Emmer Green and, crucially, by Reading Borough Council, which says it cannot supply the services and support the estate would need to make it sustainable and which SODC would not be able to provide either.
Opponents of the scheme, which would treble the population of the small parish, are hoping for support from the hundreds of local objectors who have responded on-line to the application.

As SODC can no longer put up notices on site for every planning application we have decided to publish them on this website instead. You can use the link to look up the application on-line and make your own comments direct to SODC
